Kenai resident Brandon Lowell Crezee died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, in a plane crash near McGrath. He was 28.
A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at the Soldotna Bible Chapel with graveside military honors following at the Spruce Grove Memorial Park in Kasilof.
Mr. Crezee was born Aug. 22, 1976, in Portland, Ore., and lived in Alaska for most of his life. A 1994 graduate of Skyview High School, he served in the Navy for six years on the USS Carl Vinson. Upon completing his military service, he returned home to Alaska to enjoy the land he loved.
On April 11, he received a Professional Aeronautics degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Anchorage Campus. He was an aspiring commercial pilot, who dreamed of flying planes since he was young.
"Brandon was an enthusiastic outdoorsman with countless hobbies. Everywhere he lived he picked up new interests. And whether it was playing his guitar, scuba diving, sailing, golfing, hunting and fishing, or just making good coffee and enjoying it with his friends, Brandon had a need to learn everything about it and a natural desire to be the best at it," his family said.
Mr. Crezee is survived by his wife, Melissa, and their unborn child; son, Levi; mother, Lorna Crezee; brothers, Geoffrey Crezee and M. Ryan Crezee; father Lowell Crezee; and countless other friends and family members.
In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up at Credit Union 1 for Mr. Crezee's children.
