Ladies night finale planned

The Kenai Golf Course Ladies Night Golf grand finale will be held Tuesday at the course clubhouse at 5:30 p.m. Prizes for the lowest team score, fewest putts and more will be handed out. Shirts and vests also will be available for pickup. Food will be ordered off the menus and dessert will be provided. Tee time is 6:30 p.m. for those wishing to play one more time.

Grief support offered

Hospice of the Central Peninsula "Healing Heart's" grief support program for mothers who have experienced the death of a child will begin Tuesday. The group will meet for nine weeks.

Hospice also will conduct a "Share" support group for women who have experienced miscarriage, SIDS or other infant loss. This group will begin Sept. 14.

Mobile mammography unit to visit

The Breast Cancer Detection Center of Alaska's mobile mammography unit will be in Kenai Tuesday and Wednesday and in Soldotna Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Times will be 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Referrals are required. For more information, call (800) 464-4577.

After school program returns

The Boys and Girls After School Club House, in the old Kenai Elementary School building, will open Tuesday for first grade through students 12 years old. Teen programs, for ages 13 through 18, will start Sept. 18. Children can ride the school bus to the club, check with school secretary or Laidlaw for more information. School board candidates to speak

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will hold a luncheon at noon Tuesday at the Riverside House in Soldotna. This week's speakers are District D and E school board candidates. The meeting is open to the public. For more information, call 262-9814.

Swim club season begins

The Soldotna Silver Salmon Swim Club swim season will begin Tuesday and end Nov. 10. The times are:

Blue-Bronze group -- Monday through Friday 5 to 6 p.m.

Silver-Gold group -- Monday through Wednesday 5 to 6 p.m. and Tuesday through Thursday 5 to 7 p.m.

Volunteer applications accepted

Volunteers interested in serving on the Central Peninsula General Hospital Board of Directors may now pick up an application for seat A on the board. Pick up a new candidate questionnaire from Dawn Robinson or call 262-8108. Any resident of the CPGH Inc. service area is eligible. Application deadline is 10 a.m. Sept. 18.
