'Friends Day' planned Sunday
Everyone is invited to "Friends Day" at the First Baptist Church of Port Nikiski on Sunday. The day's events begin with a church service at 11 a.m., followed by a free pig roast picnic and free cotton candy for everyone.
A Fun Jump Dinosaur will be on hand for the kids, and volleyball and basketball games are planned for the entire family.

Fall Bible study scheduled
The women's ministry of Kenai Christian Church has announced its 2004 Bible study classes for the fall.
Already under way are Wednesday evening classes titled, "Lord, I want to know you," by Kay Arthur.
Beginning Thursday from 9 to 11:30 a.m., the group plans "Precept Upon Precept, I Corinthians, part 1"; "Fresh Start My new identity in Christ"; and "Believing God, Part 1" a Beth Moore study.
Beginning Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. will be, "Precept Upon Precept, I Corinthians, part 1"; "Believing God, Part 1" a Beth Moore study; and "First Place Seeking God's best."
Beginning Sept. 11 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. will be "Believing God," a Beth Moore study.

Women's prayer group to meet
Nikiski Aglow has begun a Beth Moore Bible study that meets every Wednesday for the next eight weeks at 9:30 a.m. at the North Star Methodist Church, Mile 25 of the Kenai Spur Highway. For more information, call Bev Berdahl at 776-8022.

Peninsula Grace Brethren Church on Kalifornsky Beach Road offers "The River at Grace" worship experience for the whole family Thursdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. All are welcome to the informal worship meetings. For more information, call 262-6442.
Church changes name
The North Kenai Baptist Church in Nikiski has changed its name to Community Lighthouse Church.
