Principal proud of school's accomplishment

Soldotna High School had 38 students take one or more of the College Board AP exams last spring. We are proud to report that 13 students scored a perfect "5" on their AP exam. Another 12 students scored a "4" and another 15 students scored a "3."

Students scoring a "3", "4"or "5" have the opportunity of receiving anywhere from four to 12 college credits at various universities throughout the United States for their excellence within their subject area. As we consider the potential of our next generation, I am happy to report that we will be in good hands in regard to our future doctors, nurses, lawyers, engineers, teachers, community leaders, etc. These young men and women will be taking very good care of us in the near future.

Along with a major pat on the back to our extremely talented group of students, I would also like to thank the following teachers for helping to instruct and prep these students for these AP tests before school, during school and after school: Mr. Bruce Rife (AP Biology), Mr. Mike Druce (AP Language Arts), Mrs. Lana Syverson (AP U.S. History), Mr. Dan Harbison (AP Government) and Mrs. Renee Merkes (AP Calculus). Soldotna High School is also proud to announce that we have added a new AP Chemistry class to our AP offerings for the 2009-10 school year.
