Firefighters and volunteers from Central Emergency Services will hold their annual "Fill-the-Boot" campaign to benefit the Alaska Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association today and Saturday. Firefighters will be stationed at the intersection of the Sterling and Kenai Spur highways in Soldotna from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Saturday to collect donations.
Boot Coordinators are hoping to raise $19,000 during this years campaign. Money collected for MDA will provide service and clinics for over 200 Alaskan families within the state. Checks made payable to MDA, Alaska Chapter will be accepted.
This year marks the 16th year that CES has conducted a "Fill-the-Boot" campaign. Over the years, it has raised $215,000 to help fight muscular dystrophy.
