William Nick 'Billy' Sacaloff

Lifetime resident and Alaska Native William Nick "Billy" Sacaloff died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005, at his home in North Kenai. He was 53.

A panikhida service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6 at Peninsula Memorial Chapel, 5839 Kenai Spur Highway in Kenai. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7 at Peninsula Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at the Holy Assumption Russian Orthodox Cemetery in Kenai. Father Thomas Andrew will officiate.

Mr. Sacaloff was born Feb. 22, 1952, in Kenai. He was a commercial fisherman. Mr. Sacaloff was a member of the Holy Assumption of the Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church in Kenai.

The family wrote, "He loved to fish, hunt and pick raspberries. He will be missed by all of his family and friends."

Mr. Sacaloff was preceded in death by his father, Nick Sacaloff; mother, Fedosia Sacaloff; brothers, Mike, Leon and Paul Sacaloff; and baby brother, Billy Sacaloff.

He is survived by his brother, Nick Sacaloff Jr. of Nikiski; sister, Cora Ann Sacaloff of Sterling; nephews, Nick Leon Sacaloff of Sterling and Jon M. Sacaloff of Nikiski; and many other nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
