We wish to acknowledge and extend our thanks to Regal Foods and Fred Meyer for their contributions and aid in making our first picnic a success! Also, thanks to the Kenai Parks and Recreation Department for the cleaning and sprucing up of the Municipal Park. The picnic was a tremendous success and we look forward to our second annual one next year.
The mission of the Kenai Peninsula Chapter of the Alaska Independent Blind is:
To promote awareness and an increased quality of life for the visually impaired.
To provide a common site where definition of needs and solutions to those needs might be achieved.
To promote education, outreach and the advocacy of rights extended through facilities governed by local, state and federal laws.
Do you know anyone that is blind or visually impaired? If yes, please mention our group. Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings. We meet the third Monday of each month at the Fireweed Medical Building, 247 North Fireweed (directly across from Central Peninsula General Hospital's emergency room) in Soldotna. The contact telephone number is 262-7061.
Transportation to the meeting a problem? Call, and we will see if we can help.
