Earthquake occurs near Kodiak

PALMER (AP) -- An earthquake occurred Wednesday near Kodiak, the Alaska Tsunami Warning Center said.

The quake, with a preliminary magnitude of 5.3, occurred at 7:39 p.m.

It was located 60 miles northeast of Kodiak in a remote location. There were no indications the quake was felt or caused any damage.
