We would like to take this opportunity to thank the local citizens of the Kenai-Soldotna area for their great generosity during the recent Muscular Dystrophy "Fill the Boot" fund-raising effort.
Employees, family members, borough members and post explorers volunteered their time during the Labor Day weekend to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association through the "Fill the Boot" campaign. A personal thank you to the Freestone family for their support and participation at our Soldotna station, while "Fill the Boot" organizers accepted donations at the Sterling Highway "Y." The community support was overwhelming.
We want to inform the community that through their efforts and generosity we were able to raise $16,100 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The money raised in this effort will be used to assist Alaska citizens who suffer from all of the muscular disorders covered by the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
From your help, Central Emergency Services has raised over $106,000 over the last nine years for this worthy cause.
Once again, residents of the Kenai Peninsula have shown their giving and caring support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
