Kenai- and Nikiski-area resident Lynn Alan Holmes died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, after a battle with cancer at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna. He was 51.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the Kenai City Cemetery. The Rev. John Walters will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jason Steven, Cory Dokter, Jerry Moore, William Brewer and Jason Murray.
Mr. Holmes was born Oct. 17, 1952, in Junction City, Ore., and was a sawmill worker. He moved to the Kenai and Nikiski area in 2001 and attended North Kenai Baptist Church.
Mr. Holmes loved to write and was an author.
"He was a comedian. He loved to make people laugh. He loved being around children and they loved being around him," his family said.
Mr. Holmes is preceded in death by his mother, grandparents, brothers and a sister.
He is survived by his daughters, Tera Pratt and Marjorie Holmes; son, Ely Holmes, and their mother, Mary Pratt, all of Kenai; aunts and uncles, Dick and Vicky Lott of Nikiski and Ron and June Lott of Nevada; and his father, Pete Holmes of Junction City.

Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
