Kenai boys, SoHi girls tops at Skyview swim meet

The Skyview High School swim team hosted Kenai Central, Soldotna and Seward for a day of dual-meet competition Saturday at the Skyview pool.

Under the four-team, dual-meet format, swimmers from all four teams competed together in each event, and then head-to-head team scores were determined based on those results.

The Kenai Central boys finished the day with a 3-0 mark, Soldotna was 2-1 with its loss to Kenai, and Skyview was 1-2.

The Soldotna girls won all three of their duals, the Kardinals were 2-1 and Skyview was 1-2. With just a pair of swimmers, Seward was not able to post a team win.

Landon Mishler had a good day for the Kenai boys, posting the top finishes in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100 breaststroke. Nolan Schmidt picked up a first in the 100 freestyle for the Panthers and Alex Rodgers was first in the 500 freestyle.

Nathan Grabowski was a double-winner for the Stars, taking first in the 200 freestyle and the 100 butterfly.

In the girls competition, Kenai's Amy Jahrig was tops in the 100 butterfly and the 100 breaststroke while Soldotna's Eve Green was first in the 200 individual medley and 100 freestyle.
