I read the subject article (“Bears, garbage still a problem,” Aug. 29) in the Clarion today. It appears the Alaska Department of Fish and Game is unaware of their responsibility to not only protect humans but protect wildlife from humans.
Its (Department of Fish and Game) responsibility is to take a stand to fine people who violate the “rules” of proper handling of garbage.
These animals pay a high price for the negligent, uncaring “Department of Fish and Games” lax attitude.
How many bears will be killed because you want to be fair? How about being fair to the animals!
