Volunteers make meet run

Posted: Sunday, September 05, 2010

We would like to thank Conoco Phillips for the use of their tent during the Skyview Invite (it gave the volunteers a dry place between races), to the City of Soldotna for all the barriers that lined the course, to the Orange vest volunteers -- Megan, Anita, Jody, Ethan, Danika, Aliann and Ryan, to all the volunteers a huge thank you for your time, there are lots of special jobs and you are so appreciated. A special thank you to Curt Schmidt, Vice Principal from Skyview, Bill Holt for trail maintenance and emergency rescues, Renee Merkes the computer wiz that keeps all of the timing current and available so quickly, to Tsalteshi Trail Association for their equipment and support and Nurse Betty. Also thank you to the volunteer for the Skyview Dance the night before the Skyview Invite, all of the schools staying at Skyview were invited so there were lots and lots of high school students there. Thank you to Coach McKenney and Coach Peterson for your time, patience, encouragement and all you do for the team.

Last but by no means least, a very special thank you to Harry and Erin Lockwood. They have been a vital part of the Skyview Invite races (cross country and skiing) for the past several years. Erin you have organized, cracked the whip and kept these meets running smoothly. Harry you are always there on one of those devices timing the athletes. You guys will be dearly missed.
