Mobile mammography unit to visit

The Breast Cancer Detection Center of Alaska's mobile mammography unit will be in Kenai today and in Soldotna Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Times will be 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Referrals are required.

Kenai chamber to feature United Way director

The speaker at today's Kenai Chamber of Commerce luncheon will be Evy Gebhardt, executive director of the Kenai Peninsula United Way. The meeting will be at Paradisos Restaurant at noon.

SPCA clinic in town for last time this year

The Alaska SPCA Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Veterinary Clinic will make its final visit of the year to the Kenai Peninsula. The clinic begins today and lasts through Saturday. Low-cost vaccinations will also be available. Appointments are required.

PCI offers computer classes

PCI Skills Resource Center offers computer workshops on Windows 98/Office 97 tonight and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Excel classes will be Sept. 12-15 from 6 p.m to 9 p.m., and Quickbooks 2000 courses will be Sept. 18-21 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Registration is required. Cultural center will celebrate photographers

The Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center will host an end-of-summer reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday. The center will recognize the winners of the People's Choice Award and the Best of Show for the Fourth Annual Summer Photo Exhibition. Drinks, snacks and door prizes will be provided.
