Oregon resident Richard "Rich" Lewis Marsh died at his home in Bend on Friday, Aug. 31, 2001. He was 62.
Mr. Marsh was born in Cayuga, N.Y., on Dec. 6, 1938, to George L. and Beatrice (Clark) Marsh. He was educated in and around Auburn, N.Y., where he graduated from Union Springs High School.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a proud serviceman. After service, he worked for Haggerdy Steel in Peoria, Ill. He married Shirley on Aug. 11, 1958 in Peoria.
The family moved to Alaska, where he worked in the engineering department of Humana Hospitals, which later became Regency Hospitals. After 20 years in Alaska, the Marshes moved to Bend three years ago.
Mr. Marsh is survived by his wife of 45 years, Shirley; two daughters Suzanna Gosch of Creve Coeur, Ill., and Pamela Greenhalgh of Soldotna; two sons Russell L. Marsh and Timothy L. Marsh, both of Bend; brother, Robert Marsh of Auburn, N.Y.; sisters Suzanna Renird of Auburn, N.Y., and Sharon Phelps of Elmwood, Ill.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral church service was Sunday in Oregon. Graveside service will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Ore., at 2 p.m. Friday.
Arrangements were by Autumn Funerals in Bend.
