ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A 64-year-old man died Thursday after he was hit by a car while trying to cross a six-lane street during rush hour, Anchorage police reported.
Alton ''Sonny'' Aernam died Thursday night at a hospital after being hit on Minnesota Drive in Spenard about 5:30 p.m.
Leslie Ferree, 36, was the driver of the 1992 Nissan that hit the man, according to police. She wasn't hurt, and police said they didn't believe she was at fault in the accident.
