The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District would like to send special thanks to British Petroleum of Alaska for the development and sponsorship of the BP Teachers of Excellence program.

The recognition of outstanding teachers on the Kenai Peninsula has meant a lot to our teachers and our communities. I truly believe that the Teachers of Excellence program helps show support for the many hours of excellence that our teachers contribute in providing the very best for all of our students. In addition, I believe that the Teachers of Excellence program will also help encourage the youth of the Kenai to take a serious look at education as a possible career path.

I have heard great reviews, from both teachers and school board members, in regard to the awesome opportunity provided by British Petroleum to visit the North Slope. It is truly impressive how British Petroleum is able to extract the oil from the land, provide jobs for Alaskans and protect the environment all at the same time.

This letter would not be complete without mentioning Tammie Anderson. Tammie's professionalism comes shining through in a manner that makes Teachers of Excellence, committee members and school board members feel special and welcome. Thank you for allowing us the privilege of working with Tammie Anderson.

British Petroleum of Alaska is to be commended for supporting education in such a manner. Special thanks from all of us on the Kenai Peninsula!
