ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A Connecticut man was critically injured Friday in a two-vehicle collision at a busy Wasilla intersection, police said.

Howard Canistraro, 39, of Hartford, was listed in critical condition Friday evening at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage.

Canistraro was hurt just before 8:30 a.m. at the Parks and Palmer-Wasilla highways, Wasilla police said.

Police said Priscilla Montanelli, 45, of Wasilla was turning left onto the Palmer-Wasilla Highway when her vehicle struck a sedan driven by Canistraro.

The collision spun Canistraro's sedan around and into a traffic light pole. Montanelli and a 6-year-old passenger were uninjured, police said.
