Many contribute to the success of United Way's Seward Kick-off

Posted: Monday, September 08, 2003

United Way's 2003 Seward Kick-off event was a huge success. Thanks to Kenai Fjords Tours for the Fox Island Cruise and to many Kenai, Soldotna and Seward businesses that donated auction items, this event earned more than $13,600. What a fantastic way to start the 2003 United Way campaign.

Also, a special thank you to Dana Paperman from Seward Senior Citizens Center and David Paperman from SeaView Community Services in Seward, who spent countless hours acquiring auction items, selling tickets and decorating the Fox Island Banquet room. David also was the auctioneer for the event. Thank you.

A big thank you to Deniece Robinson and staff at Kenai Fjords Tours, to Doug Capra, author of the play "Into Alaska A Woman Came," Amy Ireland a.k.a. "Alaska Nellie" and Cindy Capra.
