ANCHORAGE (AP) -- An Anchorage man was charged with attempted murder Saturday after apparently intentionally running over another man with a pickup truck.
James J. Croughen, 54, is in custody at Cook Inlet Pre-Trial Facility.
Anchorage police said Croughen, after a night of drinking, showed up at about 4 a.m. at a home where Michael Dugan, 50, was staying.
The two fought and Dugan loaded Croughen into Croughen's pickup truck.
After Dugan left the home, police said, Croughen backed the pickup truck into him. Police found Dugan entwined in a chain link fence suffering from two broken legs and other injuries.
Police said after hitting Dugan, Croughen left the pickup truck and used his fists to strike Dugan in the face several times.
Dugan is being treated at Providence Alaska Medical Center.
