RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) -- Eastern Kentucky coach Roy Kidd joined six other Division I coaches with 300 victories Saturday when the Colonels beat Liberty 30-7.

Kidd joined Grambling's Eddie Robinson, Alabama's Bear Bryant, Pacific's Amos Alonzo Stagg, Temple's Pop Warner, Penn State's Joe Paterno, and Florida State's Bobby Bowden as coaches with 300 or more wins.

In addition to his 300-117-8 record -- third behind Paterno and Bowden among active Division I coaches -- Kidd has won two Division I-AA national championships (1979, 1982) and has been honored as the Ohio Valley Conference coach of the year 10 times.

Kidd already had been denied the milestone victory twice.

Eastern Kentucky lost 49-6 to Eastern Illinois in its 2000 season finale. The Colonels (1-1) lost 42-28 to Central Michigan in this year's opener.
