Troopers seek info in moose poaching

Bureau of Wildlife En-forcement Troopers are seeking the public's help in solving a moose poaching in Kenai.

On Tuesday, a hunter reportedly found the carcass of a sub-legal moose about 100 feet from the south side of the road near Mile 4 of Marathon Road.

The moose, a 28 1/2-inch bull, had been shot.

Troopers said they believe the moose was killed Labor Day. They were unable to salvage the meat.

Anyone with additional information about the incident or anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity while traveling on Marathon Road on Monday is asked to call troopers at 262-4453.
