Multiple sclerosis group to meet

Square dances planned
Square dances will be held at 7 p.m. Thursdays at the Ninilchik Senior Citizens Center.
WRCC in need of volunteers
The Women's Resource and Crisis Center is in need of volunteers for building maintenance and the Clothes Closet.
On Friday, volunteers are needed to help scrape loose paint from window sills, door frames and along the roof line of its building.
Volunteers also are needed on a regular basis of a couple of hours a week to organize and clean the Clothes Closet at the main administrative building on Spruce Street. Volunteers would sort, fold or hang clothing items that have been donated by the public.

Nikiski seniors show appreciation
The Nikiski Senior Citizens Center will host a community appreciation luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Friday. Meat will be provided by the center, and area seniors will provide side dishes. All are welcome.
Genealogical society to meet
The Totem Tracers Genealogical Society will hold its Resource Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Kenai Community Library, where members will be available to help the public research family histories. For more information, call 283-4481.
Auction fund-raiser set
The Boys and Girls Club will hold its 17th annual auction fund-raiser at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Kenai Mall in the former Carrs Store. Tickets are available at all clubhouses.
Child care will be available from 5 to 11:30 p.m. at the Kenai Clubhouse for children ages 6 to 12. The cost is $15 per child and includes pizza and activities. Cab service also will be available. For more information, call 283-2682.
Seniors plan fall fund-raiser
The Soldotna Senior Citizens Center will hold a Fall Roundup fund-raiser at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the center. A prime rib dinner, door prizes, quilt raffle, live music and entertainment are some of the planned activities. The cost is $16 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. Hope comes to central peninsula
Hope Community Resources will hold an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 17 in celebration of its new office on the Kenai Peninsula. The nonprofit organization provides residential and vocational services to more than 700 individuals who experience developmental or other disabilities.
The group has offices in Anchorage, Seward, Juneau, Kodiak, Dillingham, Barrow the Matanuska-Susitna area and now on Kalifornsky Beach Road. For more information, call 260-9469.
