Barrow tops Nikiski

Nikiski traveled to Barrow and led the Whalers, 15-14, in the second quarter but couldn't hold on in falling 27-15 on Saturday.

Anthony Edwards had two rushing touchdowns in the first quarter for Barrow and also had a 77-yard fumble recovery for a score in the second that put the Whalers ahead for good.

Barrow's Forrest Ahkiviana then added another fumble recovery for a TD, this time from 50 yards out, to cap the scoring in the fourth quarter.

Albert Gerke had three of Barrow's four interceptions while Robert Vigo recorded a pair of sacks.

Walker Boyle scored the Bulldogs' first TD on a 5-yard run that knotted the game at six in the first quarter.

Beau Calderwood found pay dirt on a 15-yard scamper in the second quarter and Wiley Bennett gave the Bulldogs a one-point lead with a 31-yard field goal.

Chance Renfro and Colten Growden each scored a pair of touchdowns as the visiting Ravens notched a Greatland Conference victory on Saturday.

Renfro ran for scores of 40 and 24 yards, while Growden caught a 34-yard pass from Austin Samualwitz and had a 32-yard TD run.

Justin Coon had a 20-yard scoring run for Seward.
