Sterling and Chugiak resident Harvey Charles 'Charlie' Albright Jr. died on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010 in Eagle River, a victim of homicide. He was 23.
A memorial will be held at the Eagle River Lions Club from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11. It will be pot luck. Everyone will be welcome to share a special story.
Mr. Albright was born on Jan. 4, 1987, to Harvey and Brenda Albright Sr. in Chandler, Ariz. He spent most of his life in the Chugiak and Eagle River area. He was a Chugiak High School alumni and was involved in sports, particularly soccer, baseball, skateboarding and disc golf. He loved to draw and enjoyed spending time with his family and his late dog "Boo."
"Charlie touched the lives of both young and old with his love, sense of humor and his charm. He respected his elders and above all had a love for life. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by all who knew him. He will always be in our hearts forever," his family wrote.
His family would like to say thank you for the outpouring of support and prayers.
Mr. Albright was preceded in death by his grandfather Harvey Leroy Albright, and grandmother Patricia Lee Cullen.
He is survived by his parents; grandparents, Karen Albright and John and Joan Cullen; aunts and uncle Sandra Albright, Sheila Cullen, Gladys Cullen and Paul Standifer; and cousins Brean Albright, Talisa Cullen and Dusty Cullen.
A memorial fund has been established to help his family with expenses from this tragedy. Donations may be made to Alaska USA account No. 1551824.
