We've all heard the term unsung heroes -- those individuals who quietly benefit our community and enrich our lives, without asking, "what's in it for me."
On behalf of the Kenai Peninsula United Way Board of Directors and family of 27 non-profit member agencies, I would like to recognize Lin Kennedy as one exceptional hero.
Since 1983, Lin has served as the bookkeeper and administrative assistant for the Kenai Peninsula United Way. Doing far more than merely keeping the books and answering the phone, Lin has demonstrated a commitment to our community through her dedication to the United Way.
From hands-on volunteer work at out member agencies, to embracing the philosophy of building a better community, Lin Kennedy has been a true friend towards United Way.
As Lin moves on to new horizons with the Challenger Center, we wish her well, and take our hats off in recognition of a deserving community hero.
