Lowell Dale Lewis
Longtime Soldotna resident Lowell Dale Lewis died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, at his home with his family by his side. He was 70.
At his request, no services will be held.
Mr. Lewis was born Aug. 22, 2006 in Ellensburg, Wash., where he graduated high school. He later attended electrical lineman school. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served until he was honorable discharged in 1961. In 1966 he moved to Soldotna, where he has lived until the present. He worked for HEA from 1966 until he retired in 2000 after 34 years of service.
He enjoyed everything to do with horses. He loved buying and selling used and assorted stuff.
The family wrote, “Dale was a very hard worker. He provided for his family exceptionally well. He was often the first to help someone out when they needed it. Dale was loved and will be missed by both family and friends.”
He is preceded in death by his parents; aunts and uncles; and brother-in-law, Albert Shaw.
Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife of 30 years, Beverly Lewis of Soldotna; son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Cindy Lewis of Kenai; daughter, Tyler Marie Lewis of Soldotna; daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Keith Nichols of Kasilof, Cathy and Scott Bumbaugh of Kenai and Patty S. Throop of Goldendale, Wash.; sisters, Joan Shaw of Redmond, Wash., and Mardelle Dolge of Ellensburg, Wash.; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
