WRCC radiothon today

The Kenai-Soldotna Women's Resource and Crisis Center's radiothon on KSRM 920 a.m., the organization's only annual fund-raiser, will be on the air today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The radiothon also offers a day of education on the issues surrounding domestic violence and sexual assault. To make a pledge during the event, call 283-5811 or mail a pledge to the Women's Resource and Crisis Center, 325 S. Spruce St., Kenai, AK 99611.

Diabetes Support Group meets today

The Diabetes Support Group meets today at 7 p.m. at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Family Recovery room three. For more information, call 262-0750.

Cheerleader clinic this week

The Kenai Central High School football cheerleaders will hold a clinic for middle schoolers Tuesday through Thursday from 3 to 4 p.m. at the KCHS auditorium commons. The cost is $20 per participant. All the cheerleaders will participate during the homecoming parade on June 22 and during the homecoming game on Sept. 23. For more information, call 260-3192.

Basketball registration open this week

The Boys and Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula will have registration for its fifth- and sixth-grade basketball league this week from Wednesday to Friday. Practice for the season begins in October, and the season lasts until early December. The cost is $46 for members, $66 dollars for nonmembers, and scholarships are available. Business plan development workshop Thursday

Mark Gregory of the Small Business Development Center at the Economic Development District is leading a seminar called Developing a Business Plan on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. It will be held at the EDD building at Mile 14.5 of the Kenai Spur Highway. Luncheon fund-raiser Thursday

The Boys and Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula is inviting potential donors to the Friends Luncheon Fund-raiser at noon Thursday at Paradisos Restaurant. The keynote speaker will be Kevin Meyers, president of Phillips Alaska Petroleum Company.

Introduction to healing begins Friday

A course in the introduction to healing ministry and healing touch ministry level one will be held Friday to Sunday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Soldotna. Healing touch is an energy-based therapeutic approach to health and healing that uses touch to promote physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health and healing. AKC agility match slated for Saturday

The Kenai Kennel Club will hold an American Kennel Club sanctioned dog agility match Saturday at 11 a.m. in the rink behind the Soldotna Sports Center. Spectators should plan for any kind of weather and bring a chair.

Teacher training at Challenger Center

The Challenger Learning Center is offering a continuing education class for teachers. Called "Rendezvous with a Comet," the class is worth one graduate level of continuing education credit. The class is required six to eight weeks before a teacher can bring a class on a mission there.
