Support hooked a successful day

Many wonderful and giving people made the Kenai River Salmon Adventure for the kids of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Kenai Peninsula such a great success on August 8th. Our appreciation goes to Senator Lisa Murkowski who was a phenomenal speaker to the kids before the event and added tremendous encouragement and support for the kids throughout the day. Thanks to Senator Murkowski’s Family and Staff, the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Kenai Peninsula — members and staff who worked so hard, not to mention the kids who were enthused and extremely well behaved and just plain fun!

Thank you to Soldotna Professional Pharmacy, Coca Cola, Three Bears, Central Peninsula General Hospital/Safe Kids Program, United Rental, Harry Gaines Fish Camp, Sikorski Consulting, U.S. Coast Guard, ConocoPhillips and the Peninsula Clarion — without all of you this event could not have happened. The numbers of volunteers we had just about matched the 44 kids who went fishing!

Your help (your presence alone) was invaluable. Thanks to the Staff and the Directors of KRSA who gave wholehearted, positive support. Thanks so much to the 11 professional fishing guides who so willingly split their fishing days to interact with the kids and make it a truly excellent fishing experience and a great memory.
