Kenai resident Bud Keener is shown with his prize-winning entries for the Kenai Peninsula State Fair, held Aug. 18 through 20 in Ninilchik. From left to right are a, moose jaw sled, first place and division winner for Native arts; first place in totemic art carving; and first place in wood carvings for his trio of fish. Keener, 83, has lived in Alaska since 1947, and has practiced Indian artwork for more than 20 years. This was his fifth year entering crafts at the fair.
