Connie Jean Burton

Former Soldotna resident Connie Jean Burton died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, in Okeechobee, Fla. She was 63.

Visitation services will be held Wednesday at the Gentry Morrison Funeral Home in Lakeland, Fla. Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel.

She was born Sept. 14, 1936, in Lakeland. She was a homemaker by trade and was a member of Ladies of the Moose BHR No. 2417 and of the Ladies of the Elks in Buckhead Ridge, Fla.

Mrs. Burton is survived by her husband, James A. Burton, of Okeechobee; sons James A. Burton Jr. and Carl L. Burton, both of Lakeland; daughter, Velma Jean Barrett, of Cornersville, Tenn.; brothers Wayne Ritter and Ronnie Ritter, both of Lakeland; stepbrother, Buddy Simmons of Lakeland; sisters Leona Blackwelder of Tampa, Fla., Carolyn Roberts of Lakeland and Helen Jerrell of Lakeland; stepsisters Doris Barley and Sylvia Alford, both of Alabama; and two grandsons.

Arrangements were made by the Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel.
