Susan Stephenson of Sterling is the new owner of the Bath and Body Boutique at the "Y" in Soldotna.

Retired engineer Susan Stephenson of Sterling is now the proud owner of Susan’s Bath & Body Boutique next to Riverside Books at the “Y” in Soldotna. “When I was in college studying to be an engineer I worked in a little boutique very similar to this and enjoyed it very much, so when I saw the Bath & Body Boutique was for sale it brought back some great memories and I realized that having my own boutique was really what I wanted to do while I was still in my prime retirement years,” Stephenson told the Dispatch. Formerly owned by Amy Manuel the popular Bath & Body Boutique has carved out a niche for unique specialty items and apparel not available at box stores and Susan says she has a lot of new ideas that she’s bringing to the shop, “For instance the same style robe that Brad Pitt wore in the movie Fight Club is still very popular after all these years and after receiving several inquiries from gentlemen interested in having that particular bath robe, I contacted the manufacturer and soon we’ll have the Brad Pitt robe available plus other styles that I think will be very popular among the gentlemen in addition to our full line of bath and body products for men,” said Stephenson.

Additionally Susan will be keeping wish lists for her customers with special date reminders so that gifts for any occasion will always be a hit. “We’re going to continue with the special gift baskets and the spa-jamma parties, but as an engineer I always bring new twists to things and I have a lot of surprises in store for my customers that I hope they will enjoy. I’m willing to try anything and want my customers to know that your wish is my command and I’ll do my best to get the specialty gift for whomever that significant person is in your life,” added Stephenson.

Susan says her first month in business has certainly been a lot of fun and she is looking forward to the coming holidays and special evening Bath & Body Boutique parties for both women and men. The Bath & Body Boutique is opened daily Monday through Saturday 10:00am 6:00pm with special holiday and evening party openings to be announced.
