Soldotna resident Ramona Groomes died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 at Heritage Place in Soldotna. She was 94.
No services are planned. She will be laid to rest at the Riverside Cemetery in Appleton, Wis.
Mrs. Groomes was born Oct. 24, 1915 in Black Creek, Mich. She had worked as a secretary for the State of Michigan and later moved to Alaska.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of the New Covenant in Kenai.
"Ramona had such a love for music and a smile for everyone." her friend said.
Mrs. Groomes was preceded in death by her husband and a son, James Schroeder.
She is survived by her son, William Ness of Ann Arbor, Mich.; grandson, Stephen Schroeder, great-grandson, Nicholas Schroeder; and great-granddaughter, Randi Lynn Schroeder.
Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
