Chambers set schedules

* Nikiski Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon today at the Nikiski Recreation Center, at Mile 23.4 of the Kenai Spur Highway. The featured speaker will be Ryan Smith, CEO of Central Peninsula Hospital. For more information, call Judene at 776-5551.

The Sept. 20 speaker will be Gary Superman, borough assembly candidate.

* The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon Tuesday at Central Peninsula Hospital for an on-site tour. Attendees are ask to park in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints parking lot next to the hospital.

Nursing assistant training set

Certified nursing assistant training will begin Monday. The program includes more than 80 hours of hands-on experience. For more information, call Ruby at Heritage Place at 262-2545.

Fisheries business assistance available

The Alaska Business Development Center Inc., renewed its Fisheries Business Assistance contract with the state of Alaska Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development and Division of Investments.

The contract enables the center to provide free or low cost business counseling and assistance to commercial harvesters and small businesses in the Alaska fishing industry.
