ANCHORAGE (AP) -- The yearly road-lottery trek at Denali National Park and Preserve is set to kick off Friday, despite a bout of wet, cold and snowy weather, park officials announced Wednesday.
Winners of the four-day lottery should be prepared, however, for the road to be only partially open if the weather pattern continues, according to park superintendent Stephen P. Martin. The park road has already been closed several times this month because of snowfall.
The weekend forecast calls for ''unsettled'' weather, park officials said. Visitors can get weather updates by calling the park visitor center at (907) 683-1266 or (907) 683-1267.
