ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Former Alaskan John Iani has been appointed to head Region 10 of the Environmental Protection Agency.
Iani, a native of Kodiak and former legislative aide to Sen. Frank Murkowksi and Congressman Don Young, will manage EPA programs in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
Since 1993, Iani has served as vice president for corporate affairs and general counsel for Unisea, Inc., based in Redmond, Wash.
Between 1990 and 1993, he served as the president of the Pacific Seafood Processors Association. Before that, he worked as an attorney for the firm Bogle and Gates in Seattle. He is an alumnus of Occidental College and the Seattle School of Law.
