A freshly-decorated parking space at Kenai Middle School waits for seveth-grade history teacher Ken Felchle to return from Bagdad, Iraq, where he’s been stationed with the Alaska Army National Guard since January. “We just wanted to have some way to keep him in our thoughts,” said fellow teacher Jean Dixon. “That’s his parking spot out there.” Felchle is expected back in February, his wife Kristi said. “He’s planning on taking a couple weeks off then he’ll jump right in again,” she said. “He misses (school).”
