Support library expansion bond

Posted: Tuesday, September 14, 2010

In the upcoming Oct. 5 election patrons of the Soldotna Library and others who live in the city of Soldotna have a chance to vote on a bond issue proposal that will pay for about one-third of the money needed for the proposed expansion. In this way part of the needed funds are paid by future city residents.

If you are a patron of the library you surely know how small and crowded it has become, Now that the city has done a lot of improving to our infrastructure it is time to turn to improving our quality of life issues. The library can be a crown jewel that we are proud to show and tell about. But it needs your help to grow. It is hard to keep up with all the technological changes that we face everyday. The library, too, has this challenge, with no current space to put more computers or monies to update what they have.

As you might guess, everyone is welcome in the library, but only the residents of Soldotna can vote yes on Oct. 5. We need your support to get this ball rolling toward a bigger, better library. The library improves the quality of life and enhances our community.

So, please vote yes on Oct. 5 on Proposition 1.
