WASILLA (AP) -- A teen-ager whose body was found in an upstairs bedroom was killed Friday in a house fire, Alaska State Troopers said.
Authorities identified the victim as 15-year-old Samuel Welton. His mother, Suzette Welton, 37, and two of his siblings, a 17-year-old brother and 6-year-old sister, escaped the blaze unharmed.
The cause of the duplex fire was not known.
The blaze began about 4:30 a.m. and caused extensive damage to the second floor of the home. There was some damage to the other unit, troopers said.
