Students in Service, a Campus Compact AmeriCorps program, will offer scholarships to as many as 2,000 college students throughout the western United States.
Washington Campus Compact recently received a $2,76 million grant to offer students in Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana and Oregon an opportunity to participate in community service and receive scholarships to offset tuition.
Through the program, students participate in local, regional and national service-learning opportunities, including tutoring and mentoring, public safety, environmental initiatives and other community needs. Students can sign up through one of many formal programs or identify their own service interest.
Students interested in participating should visit www.studentsinservice.org.
