Redoubt Elementary

The fall gift sale fund-raiser ended Tuesday. All order forms and money should be returned to school by Friday.

The site council meets at 3:45 p.m. today in the conference room. A parent representative is needed to serve on this advisory committee. Interested parents should contact the school office by Friday.

Picture day is Thursday. Students buying photos should bring their order forms and money to school. Siblings and community members may be photographed between 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Retakes are Oct. 15.

The library is collecting chess boards and game pieces for students to use during indoor recesses.

Cash and cereal donations, as well as volunteers to help serve, are needed for the breakfast program. For more information or to volunteer, call Diane Bush at 262-8570.

Sixth-grade band is up and running. There is a sixth-grade percussion group before school for students who would like to learn how to play drums or bells. Fifth-grade band members started working with their instruments last week, but there still is time for students to join the band. The band program is in need of instruments. Individuals with instruments in good condition that they are interested in selling or donating are asked to call Ms. Biggs.

Intramural soccer games began this week. The weekly schedule appears in the Friday newsletter. Students participating are responsible for knowing when their teams play and making transportation arrangements for after-school games prior to coming to school that day.
