Cookies a small but much appreciated part of United Way

Posted: Thursday, September 15, 2005

A big thank you to United Way and its volunteers (Anita Necessary, Mark Necessary, George Ford, Tina Marie Herford and Ginger Steffy) at Industry Appreciation Day in Kenai from a booth operator who was unable to leave his booth during the event.

United Way does a great job in charitable fund-raising and giving on the Kenai Peninsula, and this time their volunteers also went out to all vendors, not just once, but several times, bringing their home-baked cookies made by Kenai Peninsula United Way agencies to vendors who were not able to leave their booths for long.

Maybe a small thing, but this traveling refreshment was much appreciated, as is United Way's larger efforts to support charitable organizations in our community.
