Small quake jolts Peninsula

A 4.98 magnitude quake shook the Cook Inlet region, jolting the Kenai Peninsula Wednesday morning.

The quake, which occurred at 8:06 a.m. at a depth of 74 miles, was centered on the west side of Cook Inlet about 12 miles southward from Mount Iliamna and 47 miles west of Anchor Point according to the Alaska Earthquake Information Center. There were no reports of damage.
