AMBLER (AP) -- A girl from the village of Ambler died of head injuries after a weekend accident involving two all-terrain vehicles, Alaska State Troopers said.

Robin Sheldon, 13, was driving a four-wheeler with Alisha Rue, 15, riding as a passenger when she failed to yield to another four-wheeler at an intersection Friday evening, troopers said.

The second four-wheeler was driven by Jimmy Joe Cleveland, 20, with Brian Cleveland, 30, riding as a passenger. When Sheldon struck Cleveland's vehicle all four people were thrown from the two four-wheelers.

Sheldon suffered serious head injuries and was flown to Anchorage for treatment. Sheldon died Saturday at the Alaska Native Medical Center.

The others suffered minor injuries. Troopers say none of those involved were wearing helmets.
