DILLINGHAM (AP) -- Two agencies that assist victims of domestic violence have received federal grants from the Justice Department's Violence Against Women Office.
In Dillingham, Safe and Fear-Free Environment, has received $302,238 to fund programs in Dillingham and 33 surrounding villages in the Bristol Bay region. The funds will help pay for a number of programs, including training for six part-time village advocates; emergency transportation for victims and to update communications equipment.
The Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault in Juneau has received $365,000 to provide civil legal representation to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.
