Joseph Malatesta was the winner of the bicycle and helmet during the open house program. Thanks to the PTO officers for organizing the potluck. Ingrid Edgerly, of Love INC, was present to announce its breakfast program that will begin Sept. 29. The free breakfast is offered to all students between 8:30 and 9 a.m. Monday through Friday. Adult volunteers are needed to assist in order to minimize added custodial tasks. For more information, call the school or Ms. Edgerly at 262-6633.

Planning has begun for the annual Halloween carnival. The next carnival committee meeting will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in the library. For more information or to volunteer, call the school or Jenni Larsen.

School pictures are scheduled for Sept. 25. Payment can be made in advance or on picture day. Picture information will be sent home with students later this week.

Tustumena still is seeking applicants for a playground aide for the remainder of the school year. The position is for one hour Monday through Friday during the noon hour. Applications can be obtained at the district's human resources department in the Borough Administ-ration Building in Soldotna.
