Connections is accepting enrollment for kindergarten through 12th grade. Call 262-6315 to make an appointment.

The fall open house is Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Soldotna office. The public is invited for fun, food, prizes and the USBORNE Book Fair.

North Star Elementary has band available to Connections fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders. For more information, call the office.

Thanks to the Imaginarium and the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska for the presentations last week.

DIBELS-CMB testing for kindergarten through third grade will be finished this week.

A Homeschool Easy Records Workshop will be offered Monday. Interested parents who wish to keep electronic records of student progress should preregister. Space is limited.

Individual learning plans are due Sept. 30. Connections advisors are available to help parents with scheduling. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call the office.

Time magazine's Time for Kids-"With Go Places" is available for fourth through seventh grades. The cost for the magazine is $5. Call Tanya to sign up.

The September and October book clubs Scholastic, Troll and Trumpet are available for kindergarten through 12th grade. Orders should be returned to Tanya by Oct. 10.

Students are encouraged to check out the Boys and Girls Club activities. It offers guitar, karate, dance, basketball and more. The club can be accessed on the Web at

School pictures are scheduled for Oct. 1 at the Aspen Hotel. Scheduled times are by last names as follows: A to C, 1:30 p.m.; D to H, 2 p.m.; J to Q, 2:30 p.m.; R to S, 3 p.m.; and T to Z, 3:30 p.m.
