Hello to all my Nikiski neighbors.

Several long time Nikiski residents gathered Sept. 6 for a luncheon to honor Marie Williams and her son, Jared. Marie and her husband, Derek, were residents of Nikiski and relocated after the Chevron Refinery closed. Jared sustained a brain injury at 21, when riding a three-wheeler on Holt-Lamplight road. Now he is confined to a wheelchair.

Also in attendance with Marie and Jared were Hilda Spires, Nyladine Redmond, Ami Rediske, Barbara Delano, Jeannette Peters, Nancy Veal, Sherry Sanders, Ellsie Sidback, Karen McGahan, Sherry Innes and Linda Fox. According to Karen McGahan, all in attendance have been friends of Marie's for at least 30 years.

"It was a great time and lots of fun to visit with Marie," she said.

Happy belated birthday to Jamie Ward, who turned 13 last week.

Happy birthday wishes to Sharon Burdick and Vern Nowell on Sept. 20; and Richard Delene, Tekoa Dixon and Sarah Holliday on Sept. 21.

Happy anniversary to Harold and Nancy Lewis today, Sept. 17.
