ANCHORAGE (AP) -- An Anchorage man was indicted Friday on murder charges, Alaska State Troopers said.
Darin Lee Jones was indicted by a Palmer grand jury on first-degree murder and other charges for the shooting death of Shane Patrick Rogers, 27, of Anchorage.
Troopers said their investigation began Aug. 26 when Anchorage Police arrested Jones for a weapons offense. A records check found that Jones is a convicted felon and may not possess firearms.
During questioning, Jones gave officers information about the shooting of Rogers and the location of his body, troopers said. Investigators found Rogers body where Jones had indicated.
Troopers did not disclose the motive or circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Jones was being held at the Cook Inlet Pre-trial Facility on $100,000 bail. He was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Palmer District Court.
