Emergency drill planned at airport

The Kenai Municipal Air-port, in partnership with Central Peninsula General Hospital, the city of Kenai, Central Emergency Services, Nikiski Fire Department, Era Aviation and other local providers, will conduct a large-scale drill today.

Drills and emergency exercises are routinely conducted to test plans and response capabilities in the event of a large scale emergency. A large-scale exercise involves all area emergency service providers and allows testing of communications and response plans between departments.

The public can expect to see a large number of ambulances and other emergency response vehicles moving around the Kenai airport and between Soldotna and Kenai.
